Bookkeeping/Accounting Super Star!

About the role

Heart Bookkeeping are searching for a unique individual who will play an integral part in our future growth plans. We are still in start-up mode therefore there is plenty of opportunity for you to help shape our future business with reference to our values of Human, Balance, Outcomes and Challenge.

You will become the key contact for a number of our clients, provide training and support to other team members and be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of the highest quality output to our clients and their stakeholders. As well as day-to-day bookkeeping tasks such as Activity Statement preparation/review, payroll processing, Xero set-up, support and reconciliations you will also be involved in designing and implementing process improvements within our client’s accounting functions.

This role will involve a high degree of autonomy and therefore will suit someone with initiative and the ability to execute effective work practices.

Hours and Remuneration

This position is a permanent position and would suit someone looking for between 15 and 35 hours per week. Our focus is on the delivery of outcomes rather than the time spent in the office therefore you can choose the days and hours that suit you!

A full-time salary equivalent of between $55,000 – $65,000 per annum is on offer.

Skills and experience

Our non-negotiables include the following:

  • Outstanding technical skills in accounting/bookkeeping and GST (4+ years work experience + Accounting/bookkeeping qualification as a minimum)
  • Hands-on experience with Xero and/or other cloud based accounting packages
  • Able to communicate effectively with people of varying backgrounds both in person and via written communication
  • Keen interest in IT and process automation

Under Grad/Graduate Opportunity in Cloud Based Pre-Accounting

About the role

You will be paired with a senior member of our team who will train and guide you with our current workflows. As well as gaining hands-on experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll and Xero set-up and support, you will be assisting with the task of reviewing current bookkeeping processes and exploring alternative options that can improve the flow and accuracy of data.

You will also help us design a work experience program that can be offered through local high schools and which will help to showcase the range of career choices available in the fast-changing world of accounting and finance.

Research, testing and implementation of apps that integrate with the Xero accounting platform would also form part of your role so an interest in technology is a must.

Hours and Remuneration

We are open to designing a work week that fits in with your life. We can offer casual, part-time or full-time and work days and hours that suit you. Our focus is on the delivery of outcomes rather than the time spent in the office.

An hourly rate of between $21.12 – $23.28 per hour for a permanent employee (25% loading applicable for casual employees) is on offer.

  • Completed at least 2 years of a business or IT degree
  • Able to communicate effectively with people of varying backgrounds both in person and via written communication
  • Confident when using new software and applications
  • Well organised and able to work to deadlines and outcomes
