Accounting Super Star Wanted! (Client Service Manager)
About the role
Heart are a progressive business services firm who provide smart solutions to small and medium sized businesses in Australia. We embrace all things Xero and are excited by what cloud accounting is doing for our clients.
We don’t do tax and we don’t do financial statements. Instead we create beautiful pre-accounting files that our accounting partners just love! We choose to focus our energy in the now of what is happening in our client’s business and offer support to help them make smarter financial decisions.
We have a steadily growing team who work both in our modern CBD office and remotely, and we support our people in achieving their individual work/life goals.
About the role
You will be a good fit for Heart if you are passionate about business! No more preparing returns 6-12 months after the fact. Instead you prefer to get up close and personal with business owners to help them understand how the numbers can drive their business forward.
You will play an integral role in our future growth plans by becoming the key contact for our existing clients and being the first point of contact for new prospects, including discussing their pain points and delivering solutions.
You will be a confident accountant and will have the support of a technical team and production team to help you deliver on-time, every time and provide the best customer experience for your clients.
You will report directly to the business owner, a Chartered Accountant with 15+ years experience running various businesses and who is ready to help you move your career to the next level.

This role has been advertised as full-time but we could also accommodate a 4 day week, 9 day fortnight or shorter work days.
Skills and experience
Our non-negotiables include the following:
- A passion for business!
- Strong communication skills. You must be able to communicate complex concepts in a way that makes sense to your client.
- 3+ years Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
- University level Accounting qualification.
- Hands-on experience with Xero and/or other cloud based accounting packages and confidence in quickly finding your way around new technology
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build respectful relationships with clients and colleagues.

Traineeship Opportunity in Cloud Based Bookkeeping (Certificate IV in Accounting)
12 months – Commencing January 2021
About the role
You will combine on-site TAFE study with hands-on workplace experience which will give you life-long skills in bookkeeping and accounting. Perfect for those who have an interest in business, accounting and/or finance but want to test the waters before committing to a university degree or for those who want to gain a highly demanded skill set that will guarantee you employment into the future.
The TAFE course is a 12 month course. You will attend TAFE up to 1.5 days per week to engage in face-to-face learning. The balance of your 35 hour week will be spent with our team at our Lismore CBD office.
Our team will train and guide you in areas such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll and Xero set-up and support and you will be assisting with the task of reviewing current bookkeeping processes and exploring alternative options that can improve the flow and accuracy of data.
Research, testing and implementation of apps that integrate with the Xero accounting platform would also form part of your role so an interest in technology is a must.
Hours and Remuneration
This role has been designed around a 35 hour/5 day work week including TAFE attendance of 10 hours delivered across 1.5 days.
Your traineeship wage will be is $450 per week + bonuses when you reach certain milestones in your TAFE course (6 month + completion). You will be entitled to 4 weeks holidays and 2 weeks sick leave during your traineeship year.
Skills and experience
- Mathematics Advanced or above
- Confidence in using new software and applications
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised and able to work to deadlines and outcomes
